Joseph G. McKeever, age 53, of Dillsboro, died unexpectedly Friday, April 4, 2008 at his home. He was born July 24, 1954 in Ft. Dix, NJ to Gerald McKeever and Audrey Crupi. McKeever. Joseph graduated from high school, and began doing construction work. He served his country in the US Army from 1973-74. On July 24, 1995, he was married to Kathy Henry, who survives. They lived in Florida until 2005 when they returned to Dillsboro. Joseph was a member of Post 292 American Legion in Dillsboro. Besides his wife, Kathy, Joe leaves his daughter, Josie McKeever, of Dillsboro; a step daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Mark Cutter, of Dillsboro; his cousin, Anita and Jeffrey Jones, of Aurora; mother-in-law, Marcella Henry, of Dillsboro; 2 grandchildren; Johnathon Cutter and Dalton Cutter. Funeral services will be Monday, April 7, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. from Filter-DeVries Funeral Home in Dillsboro. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. Memorials may be given to the family.
